Our Society together with Demos Fair Co organized successfully the 1st Tunnel Construction Technologies and Equipment Fair (1st Tunnel Expo Turkey) in 2014. The fair was held on 15.000 m2 hall area by attendance of 155 exhibitors. More than 3000 people related directly to the tunneling industry from 24 different countries visited the fair. Also, our Society organized successfully the 3^rd Tunneling Short Course at the same place and same time period. Around 240 audience from the country and abroad participated to the courses lectured by 35 well-known domestic and international experts.

Demand on tunneling in Turkey increases rapidly in recent years. It is foreseen that investments on the tunneling business in Turkey will be over 35 billion Euros in a few year period. Providing for a clear communication and sharing up-to-date information among the stakeholders of the tunneling industry including contractors, engineering firms, consultants, machine manufacturers, suppliers, and representatives and technical staff of the public institutions would accelerate the sector. Fairs, symposiums, and educational programs are unavoidable events to gain such an acceleration, which is one of the most important purposes of the Turkish Tunneling Society.
